Today, immediately after midnight, Turkey launched its military operation in Syria. According to Syrian sources, several huge convoys of military equipment and Turkish troops crossed the Syrian border and entered Syrian territory at once.

According to several videos posted by users, two huge columns of army trucks and armored vehicles crossed the Syrian border and entered the territory of the El Salame settlement. We are talking mainly about army trucks with Turkish soldiers, weapons and ammunition in them. Later, another military column of the Turkish military was seen on the territory of the Syrian city of Azaz, where Turkish troops were deployed. We are talking about several dozen units of military equipment.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian city of Azaz, in its essence, opens up the possibility for the Turkish military to attack Aleppo, since according to Turkish sources and a number of Syrian journalists, the Turkish army intends to gain control over this region, despite the fact that Aleppo is located much beyond the 30-kilometer zone in which Turkey intends to conduct its military operation.

At the moment, there have been no clashes between the Turkish and Syrian military in the region, however, according to experts, Turkey is only accumulating its forces.

However, Turkish artillery launched numerous strikes on the territory of northern Syria. As it became known, as a result of massive artillery shelling, Kurdish formations were liquidated in the area of the settlements of Sajur and Akiba. It is reported about the elimination of at least 15 Kurdish military, while at the same time, the appearance of Turkish military columns in the area of the city of Azaz was recorded.

Tonight, a Turkish military operation began, in which Ankara intends to take control of a 30-kilometer zone along the Syrian border, as well as the city of Aleppo, which is one of the largest cities in Syria.

Despite statements from Syria that Damascus does not intend to allow the appearance of the Turkish army on its territory, there has not yet been any response from the Syrian army. At the same time, no active hostilities by the Turkish army and Turkish-controlled militants are recorded, which, in all likelihood, is due to the fact that Ankara is busy at the current stage with the transfer of its troops to the territory of Syria not controlled by the SAA.

The Russian side has not yet commented on its readiness to intervene in a new escalation between Turkey and Syria, however, given that Syria is one of Moscow’s most important allies in the region, Russia will categorically oppose any destabilization.

Earlier we reported that the Turkish President announced the start of a large-scale military operation in Syria. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that Ankara intends to conduct a new military operation in Syria in order to connect two areas currently under Turkish control, prompting worries of further combat on the Turkish-Syrian border.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has officially announced that Ankara will launch a military operation in Syria on May 26 in order to gain control over a 30-kilometer zone along the Syrian-Turkish border. Probably, the closure of Turkish airspace for Russian military and civilian aircraft flying to Syria is connected with this fact.
